There was quite the story leading up to this shoot at the Botanical Garden in Phoenix! Jon and I were staying in Sedona for a few more days, and I had talked with Kate + Chris about shooting together somewhere with a quintessential desert backdrop. Everything was a go. I packed myself into our rental car, chugged a milkshake and made my way a couple hours south to Phoenix. Swimming so far right? Well, que the Phoenix episode. I somehow didn't even think about the fact that we were planning to meet during rush hour. Needless to say I hit bumper to bumper traffic on the freeway. Side story here - the car charger for my phone doesn't work in the rental car and after navigating me all the way to Phoenix, it decides it wants to die on me. At this point I was nearly there so I was banking on it just having enough juice to get me the last 10 minutes of the way. As the traffic continues on - stop and go, stop and go, the real fun happens - I conk into the dude in front of me. Cue half an hour later, I'm on my way again (the cars just got a few little scratches, but a cop decided to stop by). I managed with the GPS and finally made it to meet Kate and Chris who were CRAZY amazing and waited around and hour and a half for me in the parking lot because of the traffic incident and accident.
Now, here's the good part - even after all of this craziness, we got to make some serious desert magic. Shooting with these two was such a fun way to end the AZ trip. Also, can you believe how gorgeous they are??
